為何讓小朋友做木作？

從動手做生活上使用到的木製品，令小朋友開始思考及欣賞身邊木製品背後的設計美學、力學及了解製作過程。同時也會學習到如何有效使用工具及認識木頭，注意安全，了解及更珍惜木材。最重要的是，做木工是鍛練意志力、手藝、專注細心、耐性及發揮創意的好活動喔！

離開舒適的坐位吧！小學員會學習以全手工具製作，在安全環境下學習木作技巧，融入創意及生活體驗並重的教育。

為什麼要讓孩子做木工呢？

​

  • 在適當的年齡，讓小孩認識及使用木頭此溫暖特質及富生命力的大自然禮物，在製作過程中，懷著感恩的心與木頭建立關係和感受大自然之愛。

  • 學習使用木材及運用工具製作生活中實用的物件。

  • 透過木作及作品去認識自我能力，在過程中不斷改進、重覆有效動作而令身體學習肌肉記憶及節奏。

  • 提昇專注力、聆聽、控制力、信心及準繩度，作手、心、眼的配合。

Step out of your comfortable seats! Elementary school students will learn woodworking skills entirely by hand in a safe environment, integrating creativity and life experience into their education.

Why let children do woodworking?
 

  • At an appropriate age, let children recognize and use the warm qualities and vibrant gift of nature—wood. Through the process of creation, they will build a relationship with wood with gratitude and feel the love of nature.

  • Learn to use wood and tools to create practical objects for everyday life.

  • Through woodworking and their creations, children will discover their own abilities, continuously improving and repeating effective movements to develop muscle memory and rhythm.

  • Enhance concentration, listening, control, confidence, and accuracy, and develop hand-eye coordination.

第一及二課 

 

介紹木頭這種親切又實用的大自然素材：生長、結構、知識、用途等。介紹工作室工具及安全事項。​製作工具箱。學習量度、打磨及鎚釘技巧。

Lessons 1 & 2
Introducing wood, a familiar and practical material from nature: its growth, structure, knowledge, and uses. Introducing workshop tools and safety precautions. Making a toolbox. Learning measurement, sanding, and hammering techniques.

第三課

 

由原木劈開，學習理解原木纖維質質，如何順著紋理雕刻，運用小刀削出一把每天都能使用的牛油刀。

​

Lesson 3

By splitting a log, learn to understand the texture of the wood fibers, how to carve along the grain, and use a small knife to carve a butter knife that can be used every day.

第四及五課

​

以木方開始製作木時鐘，學習量度、鋸木、鎚釘、鑽孔、打磨、木材索色、裝飾鐘面及裝配機芯。

​

Lessons 4 and 5

Begin by making a wooden clock from timber, learning to measure, saw, hammer nails, drill, sand, colour the wood, decorate the clock face, and assemble the movement.

有什麼需要注意及準備呢？

 

  • 做木工需要氣力，記得吃飽才上課。課室有大大小小不同工具，不要穿拖鞋喔。

  • 如有需要我們會提供護目鏡、手套及圍裙。

  • 做木作有一定危險性，我們會盡力教導，但課程不包含保險，如有意外，恕不負責。

  • 家長需自行評估小朋友的能力及自律性。如何小朋友平日行為難以控制，較不建議參加此課程。​

What should I be aware of and prepare?

 

  • Woodworking requires strength, so remember to eat well before class. There are various tools of different sizes in the classroom; please do not wear slippers.

  • We will provide safety goggles, gloves, and aprons if needed.

  • Woodworking involves certain risks. We will do our best to teach, but the course does not include insurance, and we are not responsible for any accidents.

  • Parents need to assess their child's abilities and self-discipline. If a child's behavior is difficult to control, this course is not recommended.​
